The Power Posse Event: Personal Branding for Women!

Authenticity, coupled with competence & awareness, is a potent mix!

What an incredible day! Yesterday, I had the privilege of hosting a vibrant gathering of women from diverse backgrounds at our Personal Branding event. Each story and experience shared added a unique hue to the rainbow of womanhood and empowerment.

During the event, we delved into the importance of personal branding, especially for careers that span across different countries, industries, and professions. We recognised the critical need for more leaders to champion women's empowerment and support our journeys. My own professional journey from a career in corporate, to academia and now as an entrepreneur re-emphasises the need to be known for ones expertise and credibility in successfully transitioning from one career to another over the years.

A great tip for those who are getting started with letting the world know about their personal brand, came from one of the very successful HR leaders on our Panel, Mini Bhondawe. Mini has years of experience in leading the HR and recruiting functions across multiple global companies including Netflix, Google and Microsoft.

In order to design a personal brand one needs to reflect on who you are, the three main things that define you, and then consistently reflect these in what you say, what you wear and what you do -- Mini Bhondwe, Microsoft

Laura Ryan, the Senior Vice President at Factset Inc., shared the role played by her mom in establishing the need for financial independence and leadership for women while she was growing up and how that set her on a successful road to being the leader that she is today.

Perhaps the most vital insight we uncovered was that authenticity, coupled with competence and awareness, is a potent mix. It empowers us to bring our best selves to work and leverage our unique strengths for organizational success.

My mission is to create spaces for women to step into their power, connect, and accelerate their growth.

As a Women's Empowerment Champion and a Power Connector, this event was a testament to that mission.

But our conversation doesn't end here. Let's be the change we wish to see!
